Did Google Just RUIN The Nvidia Shield

Yup google ruined shield for me. Thanks for the video to take the ads off. I didn't see the Uninstall but it still work taking off the ads with the rest of the steps you said. I may go back to fire tv and just redo the interface. Will be cheaper. I bought a few shields because it had no ads. Got a total of 4 shields and will now be thinking of just get fire tv sticks and save my self money in the future.

Don't bother me any. I like to see the new shows advertised incase I want to watch them on my paid app.

I like the update I don’t like the movie ads for paying as I use other apps to watch movies it’s kinda pointless but not too bad wish I could disable the ads

I use 4k firestick and I hate the new interface I use Wolf Launcher and its a lot better

I had system updates turned off and it still updated itself..

Mine still hasn't updated yet….. Lol

Not only shield , even the philips android tv , still the same and some apps from apktime disappeared completely. I am really waiting for huawei os(harmony)

i agree i dont mind them as ive got prime netflix and disney plus but if it shows somethig youve not heard of b4 and you have to pay for it we all know how to get that program for free

The first APK i installed on my Shields was a different launcher. That is the first thing i click on when i am running them.

Don't care, I use Atv Launcher so it really doesn't bother me.

The new update to then video shield home screen is a good change it's better than the old interface people just don't like anything different including me and for those who don't like it they can change it easy

I bought my shield 6 months ago and haven't hooked it up yet. I use the 4k firestick and my pc for gaming so I haven't found the urgency to try the shield out. I think I will wait and see where the dust settles, who knows, I may just flip it?

The way i see it is the people that don't like it and making a big deal out of it are the ones that don't have any paid services. But most ppl that have paid services like the update because all of the content is there on the screen without having to open each individual app like you did before (yea you might have gotten like 20 or so items for each widget, but now there's way more content) so IMO if you don't have paid services then what difference does it make what happens to the home screen?

People like me had the auto updates turned off, but Google forced the update through regardless of your update settings! That's deceitful.

I enjoyed your video though, thank you for making it. My Sony OLED got the update. But I'm going to see if I get used to it. Customise it and it reduces what it shows.

Did the fix on both shields , no adds , happy as Larry , if they return I will go custom launcher , hate seeing adverts for paid content on subs I don't have so it's a deal breaker for me , but easily resolved for now

I agree with you Adam. If they advertised the paid applications that you have & recommend content to watch then that would be ok.

I don't mind it at first, after trying to disable it and having no luck after rebooting. Wished they'd add the Google TV's Live tab section at the top next to Discover for my YouTube TV guide to come through (and should be every live TV service). Maybe time for a launcher? Haven't tried one of those yet.

My 2017 never got the update. Just the 2019. The fix you showed goes away on restart. I’ve been a Shield advocate since day 1 but bottom line is I won’t purchase another one unless they fix this.

It’s too many damn extra clicks to get to the top or settings. I got around some of the extra clicks by customizing the remote

I followed you vid to rollback only this morning. I bought my shield a few years ago because everyone said it was the best. After still getting buffering even using a Vpn and real debrid I'm not so sure.

I bought the Shield for it power rather than the interface to be honest. Over time I have grown to love the clean, uncluttered look. I am really pissed off that this update was forced upon us and there is no choice. That hurt me more than the utter mess that's been put on my shield.

I have no problem with change However I have a problem with fckn ADDS, I found a fix do what you did in your other video ,However turn Off Auto App Updates in Settings , its working for me ,shield skin on as before and no adds

I don`t mind it might show me a new film I want to see and a bit a colour on the screens ok, I don`t like on Prime the show add clips before I watch a film, if theres a way to turn this off I would….. anyroad up they are messing………….. mess too much and I go back to film ripping with MKV and the subs allllllllllllll get F-ed off ………………..
