These Firestick Updates are getting Ridiculous!

Why would you even want to waste your time doing video of anazon firestick ???? many people have already put theirs in the trash including myself and moved on to Roku which does the same streaming capabilities but without the headaches of firestick

My Screensaver has always been set to off. I still get the ads. Right now I'm set to let my Prime expire and give it the kids off.

I haven't received this shitdate, oops, I mean update yet, but Amazon are taking the pi*s.

To me, not really a big deal. Just push the home button and its gone! 🙃

YouTube since the last update is absolutely hideous for ads, 17 ad slots in a 50 minute video I was watching yesterday, I downloaded yt3 and downloaded it instead, least I miss the ads that wsy,i can't cope 🙄

Nvidia shield and dump the fire stick , did it a year ago , no adds , full control, fast and ultra reliable. Something you buy and actually own, imagine

I bought an Amazon Fire TV stick less than a month ago, mainly so that I could watch catchup TV on my non-smart TV, and for YouTube on a bigger screen. I did a couple of hours research beforehand. Consequently, before watching anything, I went into settings and disabled the personalised marketing, the screensaver and anything I could find that gobbled memory. I wasn't interested in paid content, so Netflix, Prime, Disney+ were shifted out of sight.

I must admit that I'm pleased to find Freevee and I can at last watch Bosch and Bosch Legacy, being a fan of Michael Connelly's books. Three seasons binge watched thus far!

What is annoying is this new freevee ads that pop up in middle of prime movies. Iv'e tried that ad blocker from vpn but movie then would not play at all

Might be time for people to buy a real android device and ditch the firesticks

Eyup Adam. My 3rd gen cube seems to be the same. But I'll tell ya what I HAVE noticed…. I use SmartTube so I don't get adds. But I noticed only 2 days ago, on the channel & subscription search to the left, there's now a " filter " option which I like very much indeed. Saves all these buffering when scrolling too quickly 👍🏻 Merry Christmas y'all 🎄

Is Amazon blocking certain 3rd party apps( the words that you can not use) ? On the new Fire Cube. Please advise of any suggestions

Totally agree with you m8 Amazon are taking the proverbial & they've not been shy in doing so. I've actually got the 2nd gen shield & I'm running that in my living room again because I'm sick of Amazon, I'm telling you m8 they're gonna block 3rd party apps altogether sooner or later, that's what I believe anyway. I just run the fire stick in the bedroom where it's usually just the very very beautiful smart tube running on it & when the day comes I'll be unaffected. If they don't end up blocking 3rd parties then great & it's great to watch a quick vid from the likes of your good self & others of your ilk who've shown us ways around their stupid updates, keep up the good work big guy 👍

I've always loved the Amazon devices, and the fact that you can fill a whole home with devices and play music everywhere… but these bloated ads being pushed are starting to cabbage my head. Don't get me started on Vega. Oh yeah, you can have your favorite apps, but you may need to wait a while for it to port to the new OS, if at all.

If you go to display and audio, screensaver. Go to current screen saver select daily memories. Assuming you haven't got anything set up it will just show those lovely scenery photos as it used to be.

Hi Adam, I have a problem with UKTV Play on Firetv stick and cube. Since the last update UKTV play does not work at all on either device. I get the start screen and then a black sceen and 2 horizontal lines appear at the top of the screen, and thats it, nothing else. Have you heard of this problem? If so how do you fix it?

I detest adverts! They should and others give it a rest with all the adverts now!! Didn't buy my device to bombard me with constant adverts and Nvidia has sold it's sole to the advert devils too!! It sucks big time!!

I did this a few minutes ago to stop the screensaver I put it on never and my whole screen of firestick screen turn blank white and it's not my television cuz I just bought this TV so I kept I restarted the fire stick and it didn't fix the issue now I unplugged it from the socket and from the TV for a couple of minutes to see if that works it never did that before until I did this until I did this video like until I change the settings on the screensaver it's not the new text box is not that I'm talking about my entire TV screen turns White Blank I hope I'm plugging it for a few minutes will help it

I have the new 4k max; however, I do not have screen saver under display. I contacted Amazon, they had me do a factory reset to no avail. They sent me a new 4k max and this one also did not have screen saver under display. Do you know have to correct this issue? Thank you

BBC iPlayer works fine with my VPN but when I tried to do the other apps, it won’t let me get past the launching stage because it says user does not own this app, even though I downloaded them the same way with downloader.
