16GB is long over due. I hope Amazon doesn't bloatware this and eat up the benefit of the 16GB for their purposes. They should have made the special button programmable instead of fixed.

What a pointless update. I guess amazon trying to be like Apple now

I REALLY wish Amazon and most of the other streaming services would let the user customize their main screen and be able to get rid of all of the "Recommended" stuff that I never use but it's constantly in my way. That's one reason I use Wolf Launcher with the Fire Stick interface. It makes a world of difference even with older devices once that menu comes up, everything magically works faster since all of the extra stuff and ads are not having to load. Amazon has made it to where it won't load on startup anymore but I just keep it as the first app in the only customizable area and just go that each time I want to browse.

I just don't like the Amazon home screen it just looks too big of a mess. Roku is not perfect but it's more simplified and looks better. Roku is based more on what the customer wants then the company forcing you to see a bunch of stuff you don't want to see.

Would this work with U-verse internet at 3 mbs? And a 7 yr old Sony Bravia tv not hooked to WiFi?

Should I be leaning towards the firestick or Roku or is there another brand out there better?

A Roku 4k Streaming Stick is 50 bucks, a 4K Chromecast is 50 bucks, and a Walmart ONN 4K Streaming box is 20 bucks, then Amazon is out of their mind charing 60 bucks for this hunk of junk!!! 🤣🤣

Does the new firestick have a USB-C power connection?

I feel like the Direct Tv button wasn’t necessary, especially since I don’t have Direct Tv. They should’ve added Max instead. The remote looks a lot similar to the remote pro, this new fire stick 4k max should’ve added the backlit to it.

i have wifi6e and have not been able to connect the cube or firetv stck 4k max…go figure that

I have the 4k Max backlit stick. What happened to backlighting and the two buttons that are user programmable?

It should come with the back-lit remote, this doesn't look any better than the old stick.

I probably will purchase the new 4k max but I won't be rushing to do so. I wish Amazon would allow user to assign apps to the app buttons.

I just received it. Update from the previous 4K Max. I mostly wanted the larger storage, wifi 6E, and the ambient experience. I previously purchased the Pro remote. This should have come with that remote too. I do like that the new remote has a "recently" button. That's something I've always wanted. However, I'll keep using the Pro remote. I haven't noticed a speed increase with the Wifi 6E, unfortunately. I tested it and there was actually a slight decrease in DL speed.

Returning my new firecube for a 4k. I dont know what an ambient experience is. Cube giving 'flashing' on 4k. Problems when integration into alexa environment. Video freezing while playing different audio. Forget it. Going back to plain 4k. My old 4k goes blackscreen after 3 minutes. 2 yrs old

Dolby True HD 7.1 is possible as lossless decoding or passthrough? Or what exactly does "7.1 Surround" mean? At Audio Passtrough it says up to 5.1

I'm thinking about getting a new wifi router and updated streaming devices since streaming is becoming glitchy. This new Firetv 4K Max is a solid candidate with the upgrades. I'm not a gamer and live in a 2 br apartment and most of the reviews for routers are geared towards gamers and people in large houses. Any recommendations for a reliable router that won't cost an arm and a leg?

Yes, the 6e is fast… only if you're beside your router haha. This is my first firestick and I was shocked how short the distance is for wifi 6e

My biggest problem is that Amazon's internet browser Silk is horrible. When I tey to watch video through it, it lags and buffers really bad. Does the 6e wifi fix this?

Still Glad I went with Google TV. Works well with USB disk and webcam.
