Amazon Updates | Why Is Amazon Blocking Custom Launchers on the Firestick | Should You Upgrade ?

Sometimes, the Firestick updates on its own. How do you prevent this from occurring? Also, the latest I have found is that the button used to "Pause" works when it feels like it. And, No…there's nothing on the remote or anything. I do get a message every now and then that my remote is updating and NOT to touch any buttons as it will take 1-2 minutes. I've waited 20 min later, and the screen never changes. Any thoughts? Has this occurred for you or anyone watching? I have a FS 4K on main TV and a 2nd Gen on another. Thanks for keeping us informed!

Actually I think we should boycott Amazon, the fire stick does not belong to Amazon it is our property after purchase. At this point in time Amazon is stealing our ability to configure our device ( not thiers )as we want it to operate. They may not be breaking into our house but it s the same as any thief who does. Therefore I think boycotting them and there tactics is warranted by the consumers, they are worried about revenue losses how about no revenue ?

Let's have point is Amazon doesn't realize they're going to start losing money pulling this and we will find a new way to stream what we want how we want and when we want and they're going to lose out on the money because they wanted to play games with their customers

So your saying don’t buy firestick no??? I have the 4 k generation three, so what do I have to look for again to see if that’s gonna work or not work because I don’t want to waste my money

I have used custom launchers but I think now we should stop doing this the next thing they will block is side loading. They would be crazy to do it as it will stop people buying the fire stick

Thas why you get rid of that garbage AMAZON products like i did 5 yrs ago. It's pitiful you spend your money to buy their devices and AMAZON dictates what you can do with the device. So whats the big deal? People hopping all over this but why care….When I go on my device I go to the second line and click the APP i want…..plus sometimes I like to see what's being up currently so that I might be interested to watch …Like a new Amazon Prime Movie……So guys please get over it !!!!!

Here's the problem with not updating the os the device will run like a snail if u don't over time my advice skip the firetv and get android box. 1.more storage and sd card support 2. More horsepower under the hood better processors and more ram
