I am pretty much an Android only user and this is the first time testing any of the Apple TV boxes. Can I be converted, will I like it, is the new Apple TV 4K better than other Android TV devices such as the Nvidia Shield, Amazon Fire TV, etc? This is a video of my first impressions.

  1. I have a ATV the older one, and now have a firestick 4K, ATV is limited but i use an imac for other stuff, so i tend to do the trickery pokery there then mirror, using a vpn. But i like the firestick now, specially after finding this youtube channel, i love the side loading options. good review. what do you call a sheep with no legs….. a cloud. old i know

  2. I'd get a shield for that kind of money. Apple provide a beautiful walled garden, for people who don't have the imagination to want to leave their estate; ie more money for nice aesthetics and less function. This is just how it it and how it's always been.

Chromecast with google TV is a decent safe alternative at 40% of that £160 price and offers all the things Apple TV misses out with a tiny bit of effort.

  3. This sounds like the first generation Apple TV streaming device. You probably can’t add more Internal storage to It which is stupid and the remote I heard is awful in a way that you hold It and use the buttons. 1 more thing it’s way overpriced and the most I would pay is $99 for the 32GB and $129 for the 64GB.

  4. Apple TV pros: Premium product, better than any android device, looks good, feels good. Cons: No third party apps, no Kodi, no side loading. Its the best device for legit streaming and if you can jail break this gen Apple TV then you can side load kodi but you can also brick it if you jailbreak it wrong.

  5. Interesting how in the unboxing videos – No one commented on the very well-designed shipping box that the A tv box was shipped in. Those who showed the shipping box just cut the plastic without realizing a hammock-style suspension that was employed. Simply Brilliant…

Coming from a 10-year-old Apple TV – I needed a new one – obviously… If I were to only need a new remote I figure the $60 price tag would be well worth it. How can a remote control be so great…
1- quickly open a new app with Siri
2 – new trackpad becomes intuitive very fast
3- having a mute button on it is well worth it – not having to dig up the television remote – Same applies for the volume and ability to start and shut down both with one power button.
4- the size is just right in the hand – the flat sides (ala iPhone 12) is gold
    5- Rechargeable battery
6- Being able to easily use the controls (most used are the mute, volume & pause buttons) without requiring to pick the remote up is also nice (for me 50% of the time) Lots of smaller remotes are not so well designed in that way! After a few more days I end up using all of the buttons in that way & less so the trackpad part.

For the Apple TV 4K 32GB- what I like best – in no order
    1- Picture & picture
    2- Faster
    3- Just better overall
4- Able to lock in playback speed in YT (not able to do that on the old A tv – firestick did not permanently lock it in)
5- TV+ app intergration with other apps
One thing I will miss for ease of use (as on the Fire Stick remote) is to be able to simply with a 2 button press (1 long – 1 short) "save to watch later" a video while browsing on YouTube. With Apple, it is way less easy (more miserable – 8 button press) to do.

  6. Wow ! I did not expect that opinion from a tech enthusiast. I love my Apple TV. I have had several models over the years and they all still work. Now its not perfect but since I got rid of cable I use it for all my TV related stuff. I guess this channel isn’t for me. But thats ok. Everybody has their own tastes and opinions about things. Looking at most of the comments it seems like most of the people here are Apple haters. Now Apple isn’t perfect for sure but neither is Android. I get frustrated with both for different reasons. They are very different business models. There is a reason why google,s stuff is sold so cheap. They don’t need to make money on the devices. They just need all your information. Apple is more of a hardware company that needs to make a profit on the hardware of at least 30 to 50 percent. Which is about average for a hardware business if you want to stay in business. So they both have pro’s and con’s. I think the Apple TV is a well designed little device that works quite well. But thats just my opinion. 🤔🙂

  7. Yep this is why I don't use apple products. All those damn restrictions simply annoying. Apple shouldn't be so damned worried about what am doing with their products. l paid for it, let me have my way with it okay.

  8. The best thing about the Apple TV device in my opinion is the screensaver. The rest I could do without. For that reason I have downloaded the aerial dream screensaver which is the Apple TV screen saver ported to Android from the Google store on my Nvidia Shield and it's the best of both. Absolutely gorgeous screensaver portage straight from apples drone videos and the power of the Nvidia Shield. In my opinion this is the best setup.
