New Firestick Warning That Blacklist More Third-Party Apps – What Does This Mean?

Sent Firestick back due to no third part apps. I am buying the new Buzzfeed 6 when it comes out in mid April

I haven't used my firestick since Amazon started removing stuff from the Firestick. It's been a deal breaker for me. Everything I watch, I have downloaded on my smart TV so, I really don't need the firestick and I will not be buying their new one when it releases. I don't like spending my money on any product and then be controlled while using it.

Its all to do with ADB Debugging without ADB Debugging your unable to sideload the apps needed to change your home screen and maybe a couple others that require ADB Debugging other then that the Firestick will still perform fine.

Definitely a deal breaker, however I use my Shields and my ONN streaming devices. Time to move away from the Firesticks completely

Amazon is losing their minds more and more by the day. Its becoming very apparent that we the people gave them too much power. We the people gotta start rectifying that. Good thing Walmart made this really easy for most people to do with their $20 Onn 4k box.

Glad I used TDUK's utility to block the Firestick updates some time ago. My Firestick has not updated and I can still use it like I always have.

Caught a bunch of people slipping. Like a “crack” dealer they gave everyone a sample and sold like 50 million of these joints so people can do IPTV, Kodi etc.

Amazon has now locked that down and got 50 million eyes they can push ads to!

This doesn't make sense for Amazon to alter their streaming devices…when the customer bought it for some particular functions such as 3rd party addons. That's falsification of a device for what the buyer paid for. So if Amazon is allowed to do this and I paid for it. Should I get my money back? No matter what if it's the 1st/2nd or 3rd generation.

I have already bought a different streaming device, most people I know prefer (firestick a lot of adds) roku, I think amazon firestick sales will go down, I guess their doing something right , but, I had a lot of love /hate for them.

I have two Roku TVs I have Firesticks attached to and never use Roku. When I can’t use the Firesticks anymore, I’ll dump them too. I don’t use or need their services and when they cut off the utility they do provide, I won’t need them. We need more useful services instead of useless corporatism.

No more Firesticks for me. Time to move on. I already have.

Seems to me like I should be able to do what I want with it, since I purchased it and now OWN IT! If I don't want ads crammed down my throat, I should be able to get rid of them….since I purchased it and now OWN IT! However, we all know that'll never be allowed by this greedy cartel, so my only other option is to dump Amazon's streaming devices, as well as their overpriced Prime services – both of which I've already done. I now am a proud owner of the Nvidia Shield! Guys, there's just no comparison. Spend the money and get one. You will not regret it, I promise!
