What I don't understand is why someone or some company doesnt just come out with a blank stick. No subscriptions no force adds, no link to Google, Apple or Amazon. Just a stick with a nice processor, decent memory and the android system installed. It would be cheap to make. And you still could turn a profit. And that's it nothing to jam down ppl throat, no Steve jobs super ego syndrome of this is my device and you can't put anything into it but what I say. Just a nice stick. Call it the "Cool Stick" sell billions put the others to shame. And go!

When I have finished watching my new FireStick should I return to the home page and switch it off at the remote and then return to the TV or should I just return to the home page and then return to the TV without switching off at the remote effectively leaving the FireStick on? Will it harm leaving the FireStick on or does returning to the TV switch the FireStick off?

So your side loading will end even on your old devices. Not kidding not joking not lying. And yes they are looking for another software programmer They already have about six as I've heard. From a friend who is a network security engineer. This will not affect me one little bit I don't sideload stuff on fire Stick. I side load on a Roku device that's old and an Android box that's a couple of years old. That's what you need. go get them.

seems like 2021 4K Max is going to be my last firetv. i live in a country where Disney+ and hulu is not available on firetv, and sideloading is the only way to get these unsupported Apps.

If Amazon follows through with the change to the operating system they will drive KNOWLEDGABLE customers to other Android devices. I for one will never buy another Fire TV device.

In addition, the known unresolved boot loop problem with the last system update on Fire TV devices will also drive people away to other alternatives.

I can't see how these changes and problems will be profitable for their bottom line. 😢
