I currently use multiple Apple TVs and Firesticks and started running a Plex server over the summer and was already looking at the Nvidia Shield Pro since it supports all the audio codecs. This seems like a solid choice now given this new development.

Guys, we have to always think positive. If this Vega OS starts to roll out and limits us from our 3rd party apps, you can always open the firestick casing, remove the electronic from the inside and use the Firestick casing to store your tic tacs.

The sun times did a poll 80.8% of fire tv users said "if sideloading ends there fire tv devices is going in the garbage" I doubt they care but if this os change ends sideloading there install base is going to plummet this may backfire on them

If Amazon does go in this new direction with a new OS, I'm sure their sales will drop dramatically. Right now the FireStick is the only device I use to get video content. I like side loading apps and watching what I want when I want it and I'm sure I'm not alone in this. So, if Amazon likes their sales numbers to stay up then they need to figure out a way to keep customers like me happy and satisfied.
