    What are your thoughts on this? Should they have binned the Firestick 4K & just had the Firestick 4k Max (2nd gen) as their pro model? 🍻

    Both Fire TV Sticks are now showing on Amazon. But the price is £10 more expensive than mentioned in the video.

  3. One thing I heard and that why I bought one is you can add a dongle and a memory stick and when you boot it up it see it. That would be great. You could do something similar but Amazon would still try to load it in in the main storage WTF any how this is supposed to do it the right way as one Hugh storage.
    We will see, I ordered one for $49 I think maybe it was $59 and bought cheap storage sticks and I already had a dongle.

  8. Any idea whether the 2nd gen 4k max needs mains power or can power from tv USB? The 1st gen 4k max I purchased from Amazon UK 6 months ago powers from tv usb by design (short cable provided). Been looking for another for a weeks to use on a 2nd tv but have been unavailable on Amazon but managed to source one on eBay. Came delivered with a US plug and a long power cable and had to be powered from mains unlike the UK 1st gen I bought earlier in the year. max Strange and inconvenient. Want to return it and preorder the U.K. 2nd gen straight from Amazon but the power sourcing from mains would be a deal breaker.

Hi big man well it is new news some will buy others won't personal choic for firestick users I just got the max this week as I test these things 4 amazon other than storage rest not relevant biggest downer over priced ones there is new shield in the making at present as told by my inside contacts to be released before or after Christmas no definite date yet as such watch this space …

    I have been watching your videos for a long time, and honestly it’s really help me out in some many occasions, but this time I need your help which I am keep failing on fire stick, I am trying to download app called Jiocineama, I can find on appstore but soon as I click, message appears app can’t found, but I found in other fire sticks and there are YouTube videos aswell how to download.

  22. Has anyone figured out how to enable the new apps installed on the new firestick yet ?

    All I'm getting is grayed out app images

    I also had one hell of a time to not only find a file manager that would allow access to my USB drive. When it finally worked through vfile it seems that some of the apps I installed from USB will not open at all….even though I have never had the problem before!!

    Hey everyone….I just wanted to give you all a heads up.
    I received my new firestick max 16gb sticks yesterday. I have been working on one for over 4 hours trying to set it up.
    Pros: it is a bit more responsive than my current 4k max and it has the extra welcomed storage.

    CONS: here we go!!!!
    – no third party app icons…absolutely none!!
    – I just tried to restore my working tivimate on to the new stick….its being blocked by amazon!Amazon!! You can't see the files.
    – when I first started working the new device I had one he'll of a time getting any of the Amazon standard file explorers to read my usb drive…wouldn't even recognize the drive. Rebooted multiple times…still nothing. Then all of a sudden..bam..v file explorer found the drive.

    As I expected…Amazon gave us the storage we were craving for but it comes with some major downfalls!!

    I ordered 3 new 16gb sticks…I will leave the current one set up and check back on it from time to time…but so far for me..its going back!!

    This is the fire os 8 update.
    If they push it to the old maxs…we may lose functionality of the device.

    Anybody know how we turn off auto update on the firesticks?
    I don't want the fire 8 os update to hit me while I'm away.

    Update: found out there is a way to block updates from Amazon but it is totally dns based…looks like a major headache to stay on top of…so..if Amazon throws me the update and screws up my set up…I will be changing to nvidia or Buzz tv…Amazon will no longer be my device of choice.
