  2. The biggest question in my mind is what is going to be the impact between COVID-19, streaming companies losing millions or billions and this writer & actor strike?

Content and quality is still greatly reduced from the effects of COVID-19. Meanwhile, companies that are streaming are realizing that there may not be the light at the end of the tunnel, and I would not be surprised if the strike ends up being much worse than COVID-19 to the industry.

Oddly enough, the only light at the end of the tunnel that I can foresee for good quality content is pure AI driven. The cost and production time will be easily manageable and profitable. No doubt it'll have an impact on a lot of people's lives in the acting industry.

  3. Do not be surprised when streaming services are taxed no differently than conventional cable companies are today. If these revenue streams dry up then states and the federal government will simply assess taxes to its replacement. So personally, I'm in no rush to watch and wait in glee for conventional cable companies to go defunct.

  4. As far as predicting if streaming companies will increase or decrease their numbers, the best reality answer is "yes." Personally, I'm coming full circle to the point where I have little to no desire to watch so-called "live TV." Sports are the only exception and as soon as ESPN offers a separate live option I'm canceling YouTube TV the very same day!

Personally for me I treat Hulu ad free as a DVR service for the majority of the shows I watch. And the handful that I liked on CW have either gone down some rabbit hole or have been canceled so that network is in its death spirals at least to me. CW self-destruction reminds me of the Sci-Fi (SyFy) channel. Personally I loathe "Reality," "Game," and "Talk" genre shows which is taking over television as scripted shows are being phased out due to cost.

  5. Charter is horrible. No matter what you do, other than barebones, your bill will eventually go up to $200-250. T-Mobile is horrible also, dropped them and went back to straight talk. I use Frontier fiber and got a deal of YouTube Tv for two years at $45.
ESPN has an app, its called ESPN+.

  6. I think the next phase of cord cutting 3.0 will be people migrating over two NexGen TV because services like YouTube TV are becoming more pricier. I could see where it will become common for people to be using nextgen along with free streaming content and one or two paid services like Netflix. If Roku comes out with a NextGen tuner, that also integrates with streaming apps that will be a game changer

  7. Lots of good stuff in your video today. I wonder if part of the reason some of the services are dropping Tidal music is their announced price increase. I have a stand-alone Tidal music streaming and received an email that there is a price increase starting this month.

  8. If cable did not offer local news, half of their subscribers would probably be gone but in places like were I live cable subscribers are very small because we do not have local stations and news. My mom and my father live in different states and they kept cable mainly for that reason but I have convinced my mother to try things my way for a few months. I am happy to report that she says, it s not the same but she does not miss the high cable payments of 175/month with spectrum. She will be staying with streaming and saving 75.00/month. If you have internet with the local cable company, I can see them to try to go up on internet prices because so many people are streaming. Spectrum has gone up from around 70.00 to 98.00 for same package.
