New Firestick UPDATE Adds New Feature… Pointless?

I've already got that on my Firestick 4K, bro, but I turned it off weeks ago. (I'm in the UK, by the way.) I've already got my TV setup to advise me that it's about to shut down … I selected after 4 hours of inactivity, which is a bit of a bug bear when you're 'binge watching'. Still, when I fall asleep, which is way too frequently as I have a sleep disorder called narcolepsy, where you fall asleep inappropriately, it helps to stop my wife moaning at me, but ONLY for that purpose. 😉

It would be useful if you could set the time to 1, 2 or 3 hours yourself. A 4 hrs time is stupid. Most people don't watch tv 4 hours straight and like you said, most tv has that feature built in already. It would be nice to set it to 1 hr in bedroom tv if it was possible. In my opinion this is a useless feature.

Done for legal reasons because some people have limited data and they cannot blame Amazon for going over

Great video, Spectrum app has that dumb feature I can't turn off.

Hi. After latest update I have lost some channels on "live" tv. Annoying because I have also lost the option to "scan" or "re scan" for channels. Do you know of a cure. I rand the help centre but they didn't help, they cut off the phone call ….. twice.

I bought the firestick 4k max….along with OTG cable & ethernet/usb adapter. Ethernet isn't detected and usb part isn't working. The OTG power cable is attached. I just updated it with wifi…but adaptor looks to be faulty.
Any ideas would be most welcome ? 🙂

wow that is so sneaky how they slipped that on there. They don't even give a notification for a update.

I like this feature. I don't like the prompt asking if I'm still watching. I like to sleep with the TV on so this helps at night

I use a 4k fire tv and mines different to that my one has added a feature which says auto turn off which is just in preference rather than in data monitoring so look out for that if you don’t see it there cheers

I've noticed when watching some films the frame rate automatically adjusts (e.g. 24 or 25fps). Has that happened to anyone else?

i turned it off. its like the netflix app after a few eps it comes up with a message "are you still watching". i like to fall asleep watching something so when that message comes on it annoys me. but at least i can switch it off with the firestick.
