My old 1 kicked the bucket, just after the remote. So now I have 2 new remotes (both paired), and the 1 I ordered w/out all the: Netflix/Hulu etc buttons 😂 I guess it'll come in handy, as I'm always looking for 1 !! Being black they blend in with everything 🙄😤😂

THE ONLY FIRESTICK I DO NOT HAVE IS THE FIRESTICK 4K MAX I HAVE ALL THE OTHER ONES THAT CAME OUT TO ME THE 4K MAX REALLY DOESN'T IMPRESS ME I LIKE THE FIRESTICK 4K BETTER ITS JUST MY PERSONAL PREFERENCE
I still have a 4k fire tv gen 2 and love it due to the fact that it has a usb port and SD port. I can download any movie and watch it through the USB port, and I can also expand the memory with a SD card. You just can't do that anymore with the new Cube fire tv.
I have a second gen its been in storage just got it out and am useing it. Is their any reason to get a newer model? Let me know your thoughts.
I updated the software and it's seems a little sluggish and hanges up at times. Not sure it functions as fast as it should
I think Amazon is trying to obsolete the 2nd gen
I have noticed in the last two weeks, on the 2nd gen:
slow loading
audio out of sync with video
video freezing and stopping
On both devices, there is a change in the Fire TV UI —
I see a carousel ribbon for each of these items:
Paramount+ FEATURED TV
Starz FEATURED TV
PRIME VIDEO CHANNELS — which has NONE of my subscribed channels
On the 2nd gen – I cannot use the Paramount+ or Starz apps to access the content.
I have no problem accessing the content from web browser.
On the 3rd gen – I can use the Paramount+ app to access the channel content (Same for Starz and Britbox)
On the 2nd gen (and 3rd gen), if I go into the "Prime" app — I can see my channels. The "Prime" app is SO SLOW and has such a different interface, I usually avoid using it.
Is Amazon trying to phase out the 2nd gen Fire Stick? what's going on here?
General Fire TV
I have the 2nd generation Fire TV stick and it works fine, but it has 5GB of internal storage, but it lacks the USB port. The 3rd generation might have 8GB of internal storage, and I might get it soon.
