I thought it would be fun to try out this first generation fire tv stick in 2023 and see how well it works. Well…. the answer will surprise you. This thing is NOT great. I think sometimes we forget how far technology has come. 8 years ago we couldn’t dream of the speed we have now. Wait till 2030 for what else crazy tech stuff we will find.

The team at Kodi Fire IPTV strongly suggests that you use a VPN at all times.
Be it for browsing, watching Kodi, watching IPTV or anything else – the one that we recommend is Hidden Router. They provide you with very fast speeds, that can reach over 400Mbps, and their VPN service is as low as $6 per month (when paid for 2 years)!

  1. Yo UGT another well informative video looking forward to see the firestick 4k how different it will be from Canada…will it outclass the UK version where you can't download apps for UK streaming without going down the dodgy Route haha.

  2. The original Fire Stick was bad even when I got it new as a gift. I knew it could be bad before I opened it and I wasn't too surprised. Using the device is basically getting ads from Amazon to use their services. There was a period of time Youtube on it was so bad because Youtube blocked its app on the Firestick and Amazon had to workaround it. Now, it's so slow it's unusable. I switched to Chromecast and it's just so much better.

  3. I still have s Roku LT from 2011. It normally sits in a box, but I recently loaned it to my daughter for a week. It can still load and run the vast majority of apps, but it runs at about 1/4 of the speed of your Fire Stick. It isn't any slower than it was in 2011, but, as you insinuated, expectations have chsnged.
