It's about time these firesticks were fully jailbroken and a custom firmware was available.
That just happened to me and just reinstalled and worked but don't know for how long….
Could it be that they only block apps that impede on their ads ? Such as wolf launcher. If they start blocking, I hope it stops there. There's plenty of apps I use w/o the need of app launchers.

I'm really suppose to feel bad about Amazon a billion dollar company loosing money. STOP….in 2020 when everything was shut down,people was buying firesticks like crazy and jailbreaking them Amazon didn't have a problem then…..WHAT'S THE PROBLEM KNOW!
What is your source for saying that prices would double if Amazon couldn’t put adverts on the homescreen? Looking at the components cost would probably put it at 3-4 dollars per unit, maybe less depending on the volume they buy. As for the shortcut buttons these would probably be sold for a annual licence with some condition on minimum volumes of sticks sold.
Finally the only area I agree is with the homescreen adverts, these will most likely be billed on an impressions basis, but even here Macdonalds don’t care if I don’t see their ad due to launcher as they won’t have to pay for that impression. Only Amazon loses out which is why they want to block it.

Ive largely stopped sideloading all together on my fire sticks and cube. Ive found that sideloading has affected overall performance. Aside from this, even without sideloading, Amazon devices have the largest selection of legal 3rd party apps available on its platform. More than Roku and Apple.
I won't buy another firestick I'll stick with my android boxes.

What is the workaround?
Bogus title, not blocking sideloaded apps, will never happen or they kill their device sales. It was launcher manager that was blocked but a fix in place now.
