Very nice and thorough review. an idea for future video would be comparing the upscaling feature on the cube 3 I know I would love to see a video about that. Thanks for making this content.
As always, another very helpful video! Thanks a lot for putting all the time into the comparisons!
Awesome mate, thank you, I've not long bought the 2nd gen cube, dunno whether to get the 3rd, doesn't seem a lot of difference in em really, might just wait for a sale
Nice video. I was wondering why you have the 4 device set to always HDR? In my experience on the 4k Max and apple tv 4k second gen it forces non HDR content to have a sort of fake HDR and looks weird plus all the menu's on the 4k Max look weird also. When you switched to the PS5 on the fire cube 3rd gen and the switched back to the 3rd gen cub and Dolby Vision turned on the it just looked weird with it always on. You should turn on adaptive HDR and your tv won't look weird, but you'll still get Dolby Vision when the content you're watching supports it.
Hell 2nd Gen cube is $60.00 on Amazon so is it the best bang for the buck in that case lol.
but i thought the 1440 on ps5 is limited to 60
Now, especially when the 4k max is on sale at $35 and the Fire TV Cube 2nd gen at $50, choosing between the two became even more difficult. Which one would you choose at this price point? My preferences are on picture quality and crisp navigation. Thank you in advance for any feedback 🙂
I have the 2nd gen and I’m happy with it but to only have 100mbits Ethernet port in 2022 is ridiculous
Do these have sleep timers? Do any streaming sticks/devices have sleep timers?
I have the problem with fire stick 4K . Every time when I turn on my tv , my fire stick is on 1080p I have to change everything day to 4K resolution any ideas?
Thank you for this very good video.
is fire cube tv 3rd gen can be used in display monitor.
LOL
Amazon is way behind on technology. I'll pay the extra for an nvidia shield. They're still the best.
If the hdmi doesnt produce 120 htz, will the wifi do it?
which device has better WIFI connectivity ?
Won't let me install the Luna app. Does it only let you if your from the states. I'm from Canada
Question for all. I have 10-15M max for my internet. I use a Home base unit from AT&T I turned off the WIFI and added a Rock Space AC 1200 Mesh unit and use that as Router and nodes. Node 2 sits by the TV. so.. If I get Gen 2 or 3 will plugging into it with lan port be any better than just using the WIFI? I did notice a large drop in quality using the TV wifi which is 2,4 Ghz vs the 5 from the current 4K fire stick. In the past without the Rick space the 2.4 TV was actually better. I tried plugging into lan on TV and it did nothing. That is why I am asking about the Gen 2 or 3 if it would help. or.. just stick with my 4K stick (not Max).. Thoughts
The hdmi out on the 3rd gen firecube does it work as an arc or earc port for soundbar?
I really wish that people would block out the Alexa word on their videos. Nice comparison btw.
Terrible and poor upgrade by Amazon, really disappointed, and it doesn’t support 120 HZ. ! Does anyone knows if it runs faster on streaming and smoother?
I upgraded from the 4K Max to this new Cube. It loads slightly faster, the picture is slightly better. I have no use for Alexa as I have two echo dots for this. So this nullifies the Cube for this function. I don't have Sky or Virgin boxes (UK paid subscriptions) so don't need a HDMI attached from those to the Cube. I am definitely not connecting a console to it.
So there is actually no point of the Cube for those on the 4K Max which I am going back to.
Got the 2nd gen cube, will stick with the cube. I'm not into gaming so the more expensive 3rd isn't necessary.
