Welcome back to the channel.

As a first time ever AppleTV user I am bringing you this video as an initial reaction to my experience with setting it up. Please don’t consider this to be an overall review, more content will follow up soon after this video on this product.

  1. Yeah, you can turn off the swipe feature on the remote to use it as a click pad only. Even with swipe enabled you can still just click on the circle around the pad and it does the same thing.

Swipe does have benefits. One of the best benefits is swiping through APPs with APP switcher and clearing background APPs. Double tap the home button and you will see all the APPs you opened as large files, like that on the phone. Then you can quickly scroll through them or swipe up to clear any background APP.

  2. This new apple tv is great for Samsung tvs since most of the Dolby vision movies on iTunes play back in hdr10+ so a lot of dynamic metadata content. Along with all the Apple TV+ shows and Amazon. Hopefully more services will adopt it so there are more options out there for people.

Also seemed to fix the lag and black screens I used to get on YouTube on my 2021 model.

  3. My PLEX Server is installed in a NAS drive which backs up all my photos an videos shot on multiple devices, that offers all the PLEX channels and with my Apple TV I can use there app to watch them. I find the native TV apps don’t really maintain there quality over time, plus all of the steaming apps ATV offers it’s perfect for my use 😄 but just purchased this ATV for my Samsung QN90B 🤞 it provides the quality I’m hoping for

  4. You should be able to control the Apple TV using your existing TV remote. You won't have the home screen or Siri functionality but you can get there by just pressing the back button a few times. At the very least you should be able to use your D-Pad and Select button without any issues. You can also set up your PlayStattion or XBOX controllers with Bluetooth to control the Apple TV interface and play Apple TV games.

Another option is the HomePod mini. If you have an Apple HomePod mini you can use voice with Hey Siri to control the Apple TV independent of the remote. I often just shout out instructions to my TV from my kitchen, while I'm getting a drink or preparing a snack. It's a pretty handy feature in certain situations.

  5. Pair the Apple TV with the AirPods Max and it will sound like a real surround sound system. The AirPods Max (and Pro’s) have head tracking, so if you turn your head, audio will always come from the direction of the tv. If you listen on transparency mode, you would even forget you’re hearing the surround from headphones. It really does sound like dedicated speakers.

  6. I have the same set up. The best set up is to change in the appletv settings to change video to 4k SDR and match frame rate ON and match dynamic range ON and colors will even pop more. Keeping it as 4k SDR will allow SDR video to stay SDR and not upscale to fake HDR. And HDR to HDR and Dolby Vision to Dolby Vision. Trust me it’s looks way better
