  1. Using the Alexa Home Theater Group ( 2 Echo Studio & 1 Echo Sub ) I went from the 2nd Gen Cube to the Fire stick Max because ARC Support. So, I can have my Xbox pushing Dolby 5.1. Now I got the 3 Gen Cube with my Xbox Series X in the input and I get Dolby Atmos now. I'm happy with the upgrade.

  2. I don't know if i'm living in crazy land with all the people wanting more and more and more buttons on the remote and thinking that's a great thing… frankly… to me, LESS IS MORE. My 2nd Gen FireCube has the "old" 2018 Alexa Voice Remote (2nd Gen) that basically just has directional circle, forward/back buttons, volume up/down and mute. Not much else. When I got the FireCube back in 2019, I had Cable TV and wished it had those channel up/down buttons on the current remote… back then I did… but now in 2022, I have long since cut the cord and will never need those channel up/down buttons again. It's like the remotes are REVERSE of what I wanted… I needed channel up/down buttons years ago when cable was a thing, but in 2022, I just don't need that anymore, i've cut the cord… now it's just cluttering up my remote with buttons I don't need… and don't even get me started on those four useless "shortcut" buttons to Netflix/Hulu, etc, that a lot of folks may not even have and even if they do, they can just skip directly to them with "Alexa, switch to Hulu".

I'm sorry, but I'm a HUGE HATER on adding more and more and more and more buttons to the remote… screw that, give me the old remote that just has a few well placed buttons I actually use and I don't have to trip over a bunch of buttons I will never use.

  3. got the 4k max stick for less than $30 last year with a trade in deal and it is plenty fast. The cube gen 3 does not seem like a major upgrade over the 4k max. same ram, just "faster cpu" and alexa speaker with larger storage that can be had with usb drive on the 4k max. cluttering the remote with more button does not make sense.

  4. If all the cube has to offer over a firestick goes is faster load times I wouldn’t waste my money on it the only reason I might give up my firestick eventually is so I can increase my storage. I don’t care about the media and photo side of the fire cube and I wouldn’t buy it for that either. So all it really does for me is one thing and I definitely think I can wait on that. Overall this Amazon trying to cash grab.

  5. I have two Echo 5th Gen Dots, will they sync with this new Cube?
I also have a 4K Max Firestick. What appeals to me about the Cube is the fact you can change the input. But I am not sure it is worth £139 for one feature! If the price drops on Black Friday, worth considering.

  6. Before I had a smart TV I used to have a smart stick like that and I found it would get extremely hot it burnt out and i got a replacement as it was under guarantee but the same thing happened again have you had issues with the stick like that? 😎

  7. I was using the 2nd generation cube, now I'm using the new 3rd generation cube. So far I do not see much of a difference. I would say that the new 3rd generation cube is not worth 150 bucks after taxes. The older cube and the fire stick Max in my opinion are just as good.

  8. Above all that the fire stick has a significant advantage, which is you can carry it while you are traveling and use it in the hotel room's TV or some other place's TV away from home you have to live in. I don't think you want to carry something as big as a Fire TV Cube with you while traveling.
