The Fire tv cube is finally here with a October 25th release date. This means 2 things. 1: The Fire tv cube 2nd generation is about to have some crazy deals. 2: We need to buy this new device and review it. With no surprise there is some major upgrades in the Firecube 3. Increase speed, performance and design. YES and actual new design. Although there are some down sides, 1: no upgrade to 1gig Ethernet 2: Old fire tv os 7. With Amazon they have a poor record of upgrading OS in their old devices. But the thing is the shield . Even the oldest still gets support and updates . Fire tvs get left behind. I admit I prefer both and not just one

I wouldn't even use it for emulation anyways…I use my Nvidia Shield with my Gaming PC, I use the Steam Link app connected to my Gaming PC, and then just stream from my PC, so I get as much power as possible.
Are you in dreamland cause theres no way this device overtakes the Nvidia Shield. Not even close. It lacks USB 3.0, and gigabit ethernet. Which in 2022 should be industry standard.

I'm still using the 2017 Nvidia Shield. Things aren't going well with it though… Has to be reset quite often.
My only problem is the network port speed. My nvidia shield pro I get a full speed 1gig
Overtakes the shield? Does it have DTS , ATMOS, TRUE HD support or a gigabit port? Is it still running the really old Android OS version Amazon has been using forever?
However, one surprising omission is a new version of Fire OS. Even though Fire OS 8, based on Android 11, was introduced on the new Fire 7 tablet earlier this year, the new Fire TV Cube will, unfortunately, be shipping with Fire OS 7, based on Android 9, when it's released next month.Sep 28, 2022
Doesn't overtake the nvidia shield tv at all
So what happens if you close your Amazon account . You are left with an expensive paperweight . At least with the Shield you don't have to subscribe to anything to make it work . I will stay with my shields and let the sheep waste their pocket money
Skip the dinner out one night and spend the extra $$$ on the Nvidia Sheild. My 4k firestick is good for the price but for years now….nothing beats the Sheild.

I bought one and use it wirelessly and get over 650mb speed it works just fine I do feel it should have had a USB 3 but apart from that it is great.
I have an old Fire TV and I'm ready for an upgrade. Looking forward to getting this device.

Im interested in getting a Firetv Cube & plan to install an IPTV-SERVICE onto the Cube, And just curious to know if its ok to install & IPTV-SERVICE from the U.S or is it better to go with an IPTV-SERVICE in Canada because Im Living in Canada & just curious to whats better to use.
