I noticed before you did this video if I have hdr set to adaptive sometimes Dolby Vision does not want to work, like Apple TV app or DV show’s on Netflix, so I have to leave mine on always HDR but if I’m in the middle of a movie that is Dolby Vision and go back and switch to adaptive, it will still stay where I am able to see the movie and will also pop up in the right hand corner, Dolby Vision. Also when sent to adaptive and you click on a link and a third-party app, it will tell you if it’s HDR 10 or 10+ but will not tell you if set to always HDR kind of weird and confusing. Great video. Thanks for sharing.
I have a 2nd gen cube. Thanks for this info Chris👍
Hi change to Adaptive big difference especially on third-party apps and my IPTV service much better looks good thank you
I do not have any problem on my tv but just wanted to see what may be go wrong in the future. Thanks.
All 4K TVs nowadays except 10 bit so if using a 4K TV in Firestick Display Settings
Colour Depth 10 bits should be set
I dont have dynamic settings range on my stick
TY. On my Samsung TV, changing Display settings to "Adaptive" on FireTV fixed it for me.
Worked great. Changed display to adaptive and now picture is a lot more clear and bright! Thank you !!!
What a waste. I bought the fire stick 4k max and the picture quality is so dark and dim when you're watching anything through the fire stick. Even with HDR switched off and adaptive switched on 😡 Help ! I've tried all your options in the video and it's still dim and colours are washed out. I'm on a crappy Toshiba smart 50 inch TV but that should not matter.
Up to 2:41 and out tv was fixed. I thought we needed to buy another Firestick!
Thank you and Merry Christmas 🎄
Changed mine to Adaptive and the problem was solved. Thank you
I tried everything but figured out that my "energy savings" was just ON, so with my TV remote I turned it off and the picture went normal with fire stick.
Hi, Im having a problem with not having the ‘display’ option in my display and sounds section. I only have picture settings, sound settings, power controls, audio output, display mirroring, and screen saver. Does this mean I have a different version?
I really want to adjust the saturation on my screen. Please help
Thx that was helpful me and my brother were trying to figure it because we are using it for the little tvs in our car so this was very helpful. 😊
Why is my firestick screen all orange?
I have an old TCL TV and so bought a HD FireStick. Went to Display and chose to Disable HDR and brightness now acceptable. Thanks Chris.
Adaptive worked – thank you!
I would like you to help me… I don't understand why but my Fire Stick TV has no color and like it's black and white
None of these things worked for me, I’ve got a 4K fire stick and an HD Hitachi combi TV. Picture is still really dark and when you rewind the show you can see in the little preview box how light it ought to be.
Adaptive work great
Changing to adaptive worked!! The hotel tvs always seem to give us problems! Thank you!
I have an older Amazon Firestick. While is is kept up to date, the Adaptive setting isn’t in my menu options. Wish I could find a fix for the darkness issue when this fox isn’t an option.
Very helpful thank you so much!
Dose altering these settings only affect what is viewed by firestick as No Way would I alter MY settings for the TV
Thank you good sir.
Turn off HDR made it brighter for me. It seems to be only certain programs that suffer maybe its the format they are in e.g. 4k and you have to turn off HDR…?
I don't have a dynamic range setting
Thank you , it worked!
