Not had this problem but as always your instructions to remedy problem are crystal clear.
So I can use regular batteries for the remote or only Amazon batteries?
my batteries are dead within 12 hours
Thanks for this information. We just tried it and I'm hoping this will assist with the excessive battery replacement. I'll find out tomorrow because we were going thru them about every 1-2 days.
had to buy a new one and the new one did the same exact thing. drains my batteries in less than one day. i have gone through many batteries. unclear why the second fire stick replacement is has the same issues.
My batteries are dying in two days. Rediculous. I've stopped using it now and use the fire stick app.
I followed all the steps in this video, after changing the batteries for the third time in a week. The remote started to feel hot, so there is clearly something wrong with it. I contacted amazon as suggested. I gave him an explanation of everything I did. The rep asked… "Have you tried fresh batteries?….."
Long story short, after a bit of back and forth he agreed to send me a free replacement remote.
Hopefully Amazon has fixed the issue and I won't have to go through this again.
I put in brand new batteries last night and got the extremely low signal this morning
Glad I could fast forward to learn that you had zero info… smh
Called Amazon and was told that I had to by new remotes and it was my problem
person was extremely unprofessional
AMAZON NEEDS TO RECALL THESE BAD REMOTES!!!!
I have the same problem with two firestick remote, i use energizer and duracell batery but only stay 12 hrs
Someone once told me that the microphone on the remote is constantly listening for key words to connect with your amazon account. Not sure if this is legit, but with whats going on in the world, I wouldnt rule that out
I did this and now my down button no longer works!
I followed all of the steps, but my remote won’t pair to my tv. The led light just flashes. Any chance you know how to fix it?
Mine does this
I replaced my Firesticks with Roku Sticks. Problem solved. If our Firestick's weren't eating batteries we had to reboot our Firestick TV's once a week. Never buying another Firestick TV. Roku Streaming Stick's solved our problems.
The only solution that saved my physical remote was that I downloaded the Android FireTV App and used it as a temporary remote to navigate the UI and Factory Reset the Firestick. After that I was able to re-pair my physical remote to the firestick. I was trying to use the Firestick using a HDMI switcher box. This was a hardware bug that was triggered inside the firestick and stopped my physical remote from pairing or being reset. I was on the verge of opening it up and making a self repair attempt. But wisdom prevailed on me and I thought of doing a factory reset as a last resort. I had hardly used this stick in the last 2 years.
it's odd that so many are having this issue and yet the Amazon Customer Service has no clue. They just told me to buy a new remote and contact them when it's received to get a refund.
I've had this remote for 3 months and it only started doing this (low battery notification immediately after replacing with brand new Energizer batteries) about 2 weeks ago
replacing the cable to plug it in to the tv fixed my problem. Wasn't the batteries, remote or stick.
My batteries are dying in the first 5 minutes of putting them in my remote it happened twice
My batteries have been "critically low" for about a year. The remote is still working fine with those same batteries. I think this is just a way for them to just sell you more batteries as my Alexa reminds me of the low battery alert and suggests letting her buy new Amazon batteries for you.
Ese control fue echo para que la gente compren muchas pilas
My remote has done this since the supplied batteries went dead. Every 2 weeks for 8 months I have to replace the batteries if not sooner. I have done the steps many times and then did the tech help and their help was I need to buy a new remote control or a new TV. I'm beginning to think this is something that is programmed into the remote to get folks to buy a new remote and some to buy a new TV thinking it's the TV not the remote.
Mine gets super hot and drains batteries within a few hours
I have a bag full of energizer battery.
There are not low or critical low
The batteries drain quickly because its always listening to everything you say.
Just ask those Amazon got caught recording on alexa and its doorbell camera. This isn't a fix for the consumer.
I’ve had my fire stick for almost a year and recently it started draining new batteries to dead within 2 days. I did the reset technique but afraid to leave the batteries in. I did contact Amazon and was advised to purchase a new remote which was roughly $18 and to contact them again when it arrived to receive refund.
I do have another fire stick on another tv and that one isn’t fault, yet
Ok this reset worked for me
I purchased Amazon batteries twice and they did not work. Purchased batteries from another vendor and had to replace the batteries every day in order to select what I wanted to see on the FireTV/Insigna. This getting to expensive.
This will not work I did this twice. I called amazon customer service and they sent me a new remote free. ☺
We use the remote then lift 1 of the batteries so that it wont be dead the next time its used 😅😅😅
Thank you so much for the advice, I chat with Amazon and they replaced my remote FREE OF CHARGE!!!!!! Great stuff 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Than you for conseils.. Fire stick amazon..
I am a user of mi tv
Currently due to overheat remote cell had melt and now remote is not working
Please suggest me a solution.
THAT HELPED ME SOOOOOO MUCH I LOVE YA LIKE FOR AS A FRIEND BUT THAT HELPED NE OUT SO MUCH
Amazon told me to eat a fat one. So I’m guessing a 3rd party remote will have to do.
This is also a problem with the Omni Fire TV remotes
How to fix – clean the metal battery contacts in the battery compartment with vinegar. Leave to dry and then pop the batteries back in.
HELP!!!!! I bought a new amazon firestick JUST so I could have a 2nd remote in the living room. I successfully paired the 2nd remote to my firestick that we have already had for a couple years. It worked for a while then I started to get the “low battery “warning. This is a NEW remote. I didn’t even use the amazon batteries, I used new energizer ones. I have tried all the tricks unplugging the fire stick, resetting my remote, holding down the home button, holding down the “three” buttons down together. Restated my fire stick, seriously these are just comical things that they are trying to get us to do. Can anyone help???
