A bit late compared to more modern countries in Europe and America . . . . . . . As usual.
I got my BT pro box 5weeks ago because BT said it was the best option because my aerial can’t be fixed. I’ve not been able to tune in broadband tv yet even though that was the selling point that interested me. The tech expert turned up a day before my pro box turned up and now I can’t be bothered to go through the hassle of waiting to get through on the phone. Consider you can’t just speak to someone straight off, you have to do press key one to… and press key2. Bla bla bla.
I end up putting the phone down because I kept reaching dead ends on the automated phone system .
Can’t wait to get rid of the ugly dish.
Then when your router offlines, the live streaming buffers and then it lags. Just like Sly Gl ass when customers complained about lag and latency on live broadcast. 🙄
Wow soon The UK might enter the 21st century when not owning a TV license will not be a crime.🤣🤣🤣🤣 I never thought the UK would be less free than post-soviet countries, by the way I also read a news article about it, that even if the UK begs the EU it doesn't satisfy EU standards as a democratic country. I love the UK and England, but not because of its non-existant democracy.
Been looking into this as I get a spotty signal on certain channels when the weather goes bad and the only thing that seems odd is it lacks certain channels like the UKTV ones such as Dave which seems odd. Also from what I understand BT's own channels will also be increasing in the near future to include all of the Discovery channels so if the remaining freeview channels do get added and with all of the other current channels you can add they will have a service very much on par with both Sky and Virgin Media and possibly more affordable too. Saying that future smart tvs and any freeview recievers should implement this kind of thing going forward because having poor signal quality should be a thing of the past now.
Im all for the Technology behind it. I use an Apple TV with HDHomerun connected which means i dont have to rewire the whole flat to get tv in the bedroom. Works for me. I just looked at BT's site and it looks like they're charging more than Sky for less channels £103 per month for Movies and Sports… Owch! I do love the idea of having the aerial as a spare connection in case the internet goes down though
Hi Chris the answers to your questions are as follows Freeview needs to go IPTV if mainly for geographical issues I've certain channels only being available in certain regions ,& with changes to the 5g spectrum less bandwidth I can see all channels being available sometime in the future the service needs to evolve & with super fast broadband speeds that should no longer be an issue secondly with sky they will will be launching a IPTV service soon it's already been trialed on Europe , Germany they get it for around 15 euros a month but expect us to pay the current prices.
I would get one of these if there is no BBC on it.
No good if you got poor Internet or none at all be very hesitant regarding this news but interesting to know ….
Just get a firestick and chuck some apps on… or the new box Amazon are bringing out soon ….
Sky 8s going over BB Too think autumn 23 iirc
This isn't know where near iptv 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Honestly this is pure comedy gold as a lot of what is suggested people how are not in there 60's , 70's or 80's have already done.
We Stream absolutely everything
all we have with Sky is Internet & house phone the rest is Subscription based.
Honestly B.T are just trying to hang on to a Dragons tail with this that has already flown off long , long ago.
And as to what if your interest go's down that is why services like
Amazon Prime , Disney + & Paramount + allow you to download some content depending on how the contract for certain content is worded but it tell you if you can download it or not.
If you have downloaded something you can watch it on your Tablet without Internet as we have had to do in the past after moving.
Keep Safe..
Far too expensive for what you get !
ha ha ha so an andriod box and who records anything in the cordcutting world. I haven't had an aerial or dish for years i assume anyone that finds this exciting news is living in the 2010s lol
Thanks
Can you do a video showing what channels are on IPTV with it? Considering it because my house gets poor Ariel, but if I do then I would be moving the TV away from Ariel connector and want to know what I'd get
I've got a bt box already but it's the one before this and can't get ANY bbc channels including radio channels…..
Hi Chris do I need to be a BT subscriber and have a BT router to use this box ? Many Thanks. Richard
