Just to add. One step I haven’t seen on any videos… replace the fire stick android chord. My remote was down for several months after trying everything I could find on these videos several times. I was tired of using my phone so I called Amazon help desk.

@DFMTV my issue arose from battery residue build up on the remote terminals in battery compartment. I wiped them off as suggested from another youtuber and just like that it works perfectly again. Just a suggestion for those who like me exhausted every ave in trying to fix dead remote.

We lost our remote so I ordered one on eBay, I tried all the 3 options and it didn’t work, so now I’m at your advanced video and I downloaded the app to my phone and I was able to go to settings and remote however the remote still did not connect, I went to other Bluetooth devices and was able to install my BT speaker. The eBay remote is still not working and I’m reluctant to do a factory reset. I really think it’s this eBay remote. I may go buy one from targets and see. I’m thinking if the speaker connected and everything was fine before it appears this eBay remote my be garbage. I do have fresh batteries in it, and holding down the home button activated the blinking light

Hi Dan the Firestick man. The problem I'm having is black screen. I made the mistake of setting the sleep for 15 minutes plus the screensaver last night. This morning I've got black screen. The firestick won't wake so, can't turn tv off or watch Direct streaming or use my playstation. It's dead and I've try everything even called Amazon. Called Best Buy Geek Squad no luck.
