This thing isn’t a TV; it’s a display! It costs more than a smart TV, but it also doesn’t spy on you, so that’s nice.

I'm starting to see a pattern with raspery pi and making things smart
The screen image quality is bad, better to just buy a normal tv, then connect a pi via hdmi to it.
RPIβs or aka virtual machines have been used in this capacity for over 10 years from what i can remember. manufactures use them to display company information and or production information to the employees.
By this logic a smart tv isn't a tv because it has a computer in it.
Way cheaper to just use a of the shelf TV and add a normal Pi or something like that.
Just check if the TV supports a presentation mode (auto power on, on the correct HDMI port etc.).
Oh hey, I have an older 1080p model of one of these! Recovered it from a long abandoned business location
It currently runs as my primary monitor on my desktop. This displays surprisingly good for just about damn near anything you could throw at it, I was surprised it even still worked when I found it lmao
The best TV is actually NOT a TV.
Pi's hardware still got some road before it can handle fully videos formats, clean 4k decoding etc…
you've hit the oak tree?
rapsberry pi is a toy for learning with colimized hardware not 100 percent suitable for media. It's very poorly powered.
"Powerful possibilities β the Quad Core 1.5 GHZ processor provides amazing performance and supports 4K/UHD playback with an unrivalled price-performance ratio"
no, Broadcom BCM2711 it's not amazing .
Thumbnail is bisexual clickbait
I'd find it cool if I could run Windows 10 on ARM on it, just to put Windows Media Center on it (through the x86 emulation layer) and just have a Windows Media Center-powered Display in my living room.. haha.
Do you have to open the Terminal screen to lower the volume, haha
that is so cool. especially that the board is removable so you can add newer ones later!
Why are you calling it a TV when it is not. If it does not have a TV turner is it not a tv point blank.
If anything it is a monitor
Is it a TV with a North Korean chip? Does it contain a hidden camera that films citizens? Is the remote control used as a microphone to record conversations illegally? Is it connected to a server whose information is processed by AI, to draw up a psychological portrait of users? Has it been approved by the Gambino family or DoD? Oh i see.. NASA : Moonist tech. Are you related to Congressman Swagwell?
These must be available on the used market when companies upgrade. Any leads?
I hate my βnewβ smart Vizio. My old Vizio tv from 2012 wasnβt super intergraded with BS and it would of lasted forever, but I accidentally threw a switch remote at it. Sadly I had to buy a new tv and thought, heck the Vizio has been good to me and man wtf have they done?!?! I hate my POS tv now.
And just a 60Hz refresh rate.
Smarter than a tv but doesnt play 4k… No thnx
$1,659.00 USD
Dude everything is smarter then smart TV, even the remote for the TV is smarter
I'm surprised it won't play 4k, i bought my 4k tv in 2015 & it plays 4k hdr files
