You can scan movies on youtube into your kodi library using strm files which are text files with a .strm file extension that contain the url for a movie on youtube
The default video player for Kodi cant play youtube urls without the Youtube addon which requires you to create an api key to use it, which is a pain and means google has a record of all the videos you play
Using the playercorefactory.xml file we can set mpv as an external video player for internet streams in kodi so when you click on a strm file with a youtube link it will open the video with mpv
You can optionally set mpv to open fullscreen on a specific display,
and by press shift and q to quit mpv you can also resume playback
The advantage is you dont need to use the youtube addon and create an api key to watch youtube videos you can just click on a strm link and it will open in mpv automatically
kodi playercorefactory.xml mpv external player internet streams
Note if you are on mac or windows you need to change the path to the location of mpv on your system
Copy the playercorefactory.xml file to your ~/.kodi/userdata directory
or the appropriate path on your system

I'm sorry, not sure if you got the last message, somehow it look it got deleted, weird, but do we add this to the end of the pilfer playercorefactory? Thank you.
