This is a little bug I found recently on my Arch computer (not on my OSMC). It appears that the latest Python (3.10.1) breaks several aspects of Kodi, and a few other applications we know of.
On this video I talk about rolling back packages with Pacman using the cache or the web and how to diagnosis the issue to resolve a broken package on Linux.

Useful, thanks
Great video, Thanks.
Tom thanks for the educational information because I too use Kodi although I use the 18.6 not the latest and I checked if my Kodi was working and it was now my question is "is that because I use an older version of Kodi and not the latest?" who knows but if I switch to the newest one and if it does not work then I know what the issue is and how to fix it plus people tend to complain about older version of software but me personality the only software I must have updated at all times is the web browser for security but other then that I just use old versions of my software as long it does what i need and works well 🙂
So, windows does NOT do its updates that bad eh?
Real moral of this video, stop writing stuff in python, and don't use stuff written in python.
Kodi is a ridiculous waste of time.
python update also broke protonvpn
I solved this problem by rolling back Kod from 19.3 to 19.1, that seemed to work fine with the latest Python on Manjaro on my workstation.
Best Linux file manager (GUI). It should be lightweigh.
Python breaks much more. Also the script for the battery level indicator of Bluetooth headset is broken.
"SystemError: PY_SSIZE_T_CLEAN macro must be defined for '#' formats"
This should be related to Python.
Debian
Thanks so much for addressing this. Being somewhat of a noob, I'm still trying to figure out the info you gave us. P.S. That's the perfect beard on you.
