  1. Hi Matthew, thanks for the video. My device hasn't been able to update from CoreELEC for about a year now as updates would freeze video. I'm running a Coowell V5 S905X 1GB. I'm using dtb gxl p212 1gb obviously renamed dtb.img. My device is old but works well so it would be a shame to replace it. I've tried a few other dtbs but all report the same problem, the coreELEC logo flashes then the device reboots, sometimes it loads the kodi desktop but most of the time it doesn't. Any thoughts would be much appreciated, Many thanks Matthew.

  2. hi matt. at least with core/libreelec the sd card can be made on linux even using etcher but why haven't we got a version of the amlogic usb software that will run on linux. it is strange when you consider that android is at it's heart based on linux but alternative operating systems or a flash updating require the dreaded windows.

  3. Hello, I have a TV BOX MXQ PRO 4K 5G 16GB Ram and 256GB (fake?) with IK316 quad-core cortex-a53 cpu and I can't get it to boot via usb or sd, when I press the reset button and connect the power to the tv box it only turns on the weak blue led and does not show an image, I have tried restarting with reboot update from the terminal and neither. If you can help I appreciate it.

  4. corelec is just like a service toolbox that loads sdcard by bootlader and let's you change settings, right? like a windows startup disk 🤔
not permanent installed software, only when you boot from sdcard, right? when you restart without sdcard inserted, tvbox boots as normal but corelec changes remain.
