In this video, I’ll show you how to install Kodi on the Raspberry Pi computer in order to build your own media center. Kodi is free, open-source media center software that allows you to stream movies, TV shows, music, and more! The Raspberry Pi connects directly to your TV or monitor.

Great vid. Would love to see you do a piArcade that can work with light guns. Or a full size arcade with speakers
MERRY CHRISTMAS!
So I have had nothing but trouble with Kodi since I installed it 2 weeks ago. Very few add-ons actually work. The ones I want all require YouTube, and that add-on is a dumpster fire requiring API keys. Kodi won't install OpenVPN either for some reason, and no one can seem to help me out with it. HDHomeRun doesn't work either. Kodi also won't recognize my external SSD plugged in via USB to transfer movies… So I can't even use it for it's original purpose. This Kodi project has been, without a shadow of a doubt, the single biggest disappointment and fuck up of all 2020.
aye man so with the raspberry pi 4 canakit the power supply comes with a off and on switch for it. Would I be able to use that to turn it off or would that corrupt the sd card?
Does transferring files from your computer to pi over SSH count against your ISP's data cap?
Also, when transferring over SSH, does that move the file to the Pi's sd card? Or is this to an external flash drive connected to your pi?
Great easy video! I'm excited to try it out and check out your written instructions
I am using a raspberry pi 4 with 8gb ram. I have installed Kodi but I cannot get addons for Netflix, Hulu, or Amazon prime video. I got the add on for YouTube but it doesn’t even work. Any ideas as to what is going on here? It has been very frustrating so far.
Any ideas y my kodi setup is ridiculous slow?
Make a video for raspberry pi 3b+
Libreelec has browser. Thanks.
I'm trying to make my Kodi build as lightweight as possible. It's installed on a resurrected Raspbian Laptop, one that used to be a Windows XP. Is there a way to make Kodi positively skeletal so I can run everything without buffering issues?
I have used much larger sd cards for years. my pi zero w has a 128gig sd card in it. with retropi and kodi with 5,000 games. 16 gigs for games the rest is for movies. save a gig for save states for games. i have 2 pi 3b+ with over 200 gig sd cards. never had any problems. honestly never heard of limit of gig on pi.But i use retropi O.S. and kodi is a add-on to game systems. kodi is filed in ports. might be a O.S. thing
Very nice 🙂 Thank you, I now have a media center at home 🙂 Do you know how it could act as a bluetooth speaker so that friends could send their music to the media center from their phone without installing an app?
My uncle uses a fire stick w/cinema as the service. Is the pi faster than a fire stick? Or easier to use. And what are the reasons lol
Hey, it almost works! This is the closest I've come to getting kodi to work on my rasp 3b+…. Thanks.
How many people thank the video before getting it to work?
If you're doing that, please stop it.
why isnt my wifi showing up in the KODI 🙁
But y..y not just use a firestick? Just curious
Hi. Any way to set Pi to dual boot? One to Raspian and one to Kodi? Thank you
Can you connect KODI to a Synology NAS where I store al my music and movies?
Subed. Like your stuff. Thank you.
Im new to this so your videos really are helpful. Thanks a lot 👌🙂
I'm running Kodi on the raspberry pi 2. No issues, no lag.
Great video
Showing some of the "most interesting stuff" would be ideal if some of the basic stuff actually worked. Unfortunately I receive an error 2 message when I try to navigate to my USB external hard drive in order to import my movies into Kodi. Any thoughts would be highly appreciated
Early on in your video you mention the micro SD size shouldn't be above 64GB… It should be noted that Raspberry Pi 4B will now (Sept.2021) support up to 256GB.
Is it possible to control kodi with the TV remote that came with the tv. I’m using an older TV and I can’t seem to control the RPi with anything other than a keyboard or my ps4 controller

Anyone know the state of the Rpi4/Kodi's ability to do HDR / DolbyVision as of late 2021? I've no experience with Kodi and the RPi (aside for retro emulation), but I've read that Dolby Atmos encoded audio to a device (such as soundbar) that can decode is is working, but I haven't found definitive info on HDR/DolbyVision that's not 1+ years old. Was hoping to build a KODI machine for local streaming and online streaming services, but didn't want to lose HDR/DolbyVision/Atmos support.
AUDIO FROM RASPBERRY PI4 3.5MM JACK IS NOT COMING…..HOW TO RESOLVE???
Will this work with an old laptop that I don't use? It should right?
im trying to get kodi to work, i had a someone prebuilt my pistation, but now the kodi doesnt work. how would i update it?
great video! Just wondering if there is a iOS remote that does not require a TV. I want to build a media center to stream music from a NAS directly to my stereo
Can it go on standby if using a remote control? Or you have to switch it on or off manually all the time? Thank you
