  1. My cat has had chronic kidney disease for a couple of years. was constipated and lost a lot of weight. Now that I give her subcutaneous fluids every other day, she has put on weight, poops okay, and has a spring in her step. I wish we had started the fluids with her earlier.

  2. What Vets don't know or won't tell you is that the worse thing for cats kidneys is dry cat food. I had one cat after the other pass away from blocked urethra or kidney disease till I weaned them off dry food (I always fed wet and dry left to munch on as they pleased) and when I did, never a kidney problem or urinary problem again. I fed canned cat food with a good mix of spring water. Pair of siblings died at 16 and his sister recently died at 18. It should be outlawed for cats, they are strict carnivores. Dogs can take it, they are omnivores. Glad your baby is doing well. Please heed my advice, took me years to conclude this.

  3. It is so good to see him home with you, mushing it up, playing and all! I don't blame you for wanting to keep him home with you for a little while. I think being home will definitely help calm the stress effects.

I wish you every success with the vet, I hope they are able to figure out what is going on and how to treat it Easily.

  4. After many years of cat owning experience, we have concluded that unless a cat is an indoor outdoor cat, they shouldn't be given kibble at all. If they go outside, they get more exercise and burn off the carbs in kibble. But kibble is horrible to cats urinary tracks. Especially male cats. It forms crystals in urine, blocks the penis, then urine backs up in their kidneys and by the time you notice them trying to pee, their kidneys are shot. Had one cat who we had to have penis removed so it wouldn't get blocked again. Even a female cat who had 2 cases of bladder stones caused by dry food. Cats are strict carnivores, kibble is garbage food/filler for cats. Dogs can eat it, they are omnivores and can handle it. Though they really shouldn't either. Most of kibble may say made in USA, but it's only distributed in USA, made in (GUESS!?) CHINA! Now we know how much they love to feed our animals good food… NOT! It took many years to dawn on me that kibble is just plain bad for cats. They may drink water, but they get most of their water from their food. Dry has no water. Last 2 cats I had had no urinary track problems at all because I fed them no kibble. Both lived to ripe old ages of almost 20. Strictly indoor cats. I hope for the best for your cats, they are sweet and adorable! 😊

  5. I was gonna say that then I read you already found out — all this sounds like dental issues… A dog of a friend of mine had similar issues, she spent a fortune with tests, then one tooth fell, the vet checked the dog´s gums and confirmed — some gingivitis or infection in the mouth or teeth somewhere – after some extractions and antibiotics, everything is fine now…
