This is an amazing insight into the life of Khajekar. All we do is buy a packet of Khaje and leave not thanking the artist who makes it. 🙂 Good work @GoaBylane
@Goa Bylane …..commendable job. Beautifully captured the true essence of the Khajekars of Goa. A much needed recognition to these unique traditions. looking forward to seeing more such interesting stories.
Love the way the video is captured. Took me back to the memories when we used to stop to watch the whole batch of khaje's get deep fried & later being added to the jaggery mix , before just buying a packet. Great work @goabylane. 🙂
This video struck a chord and refreshed so many wonderful memories of the jatra the shops lit with the bright lanterns and all the sweet treats sold by the kajekars. Thank you Goa bylanes for making this video and for helping me go down the memory lane.
I meant to leave a comment earlier but finally got to it.
Wonderful story and thank you for featuring Quepem Khajem stalwart Anand Kanekar.
It’d be wonderful if you could make one too on the ‘Ganapati Rang shala’ of the Shet Karmalkar, who has let the art of sculpting the Ganapati idols alive since 3 or more generations!
