It’s been reported that two major streaming sites have been shut down by ACE – 123Movies la and Cuevana.
The well-known 123Movies.la and Cuevana domains have been seized and shut down by the Alliance for Creativity and Entertainment (ACE) over the past few days.
The “123Movies la” domain has been one of the most popular streaming websites over the past several years for watching movies and TV shows online.

According to the global anti-piracy group, the 123movies la website received an estimated 30 million monthly visitors since its arrival in 2017.
If you visit the 123movies.la URL you will now be presented with the screen below.

When visiting the most popular Cuevana domain (cuevana3.io) on the other hand, it appears the website is still online and in operation.

The original Cuevana.tv URL started gaining traction in 2012, and according to ACE there are now over 30 different Cuevana domains receiving millions of monthly visitors in the Latin America region.
They commented the following regarding Cuevana:
“In January 2021, these 30 domains received over seven million visits, making Cuevana one of the most popular illegal streaming websites in LATAM.”
This isn’t the first or last time we will see unverified streaming sites/apps shut down, as we’ve seen these instances in the past.

Although this is a victory for ACE and copyright holders, it only seems logical that this “cat and mouse” game of shutting down streaming sites will continue in the near future.

It’s uncertain what’s happening behind the scenes with these shutdowns of 123Movies la and Cuevana.
