My android box fails to install Kodi 18

I have tried several times with different versions- not installing

But I find that Kodi still updates every couple of days, therefore deleting all my add-ons, and I have to start from scratch downgrading and installing everything again. I don't know how to turn off auto update. I have Buzz TV xpl 3000 Android TV box, can you PLEASE HELP, going mental here? Somebody said I need to take the box itself apart, that can't be true can it?

After Kodi 19 virus my box has been a mess.

Went back to 18.9 kodi no addons doesn't work old addons will not work and 19.0 is not all of that either they have deleted old addons I did this on my computer

I had 18.3 uninstalled followed everything but it just says starting download and then nothing happens (been out the country for about a year so haven’t touched the box since april 2020) when I click to download downloaded it just shows a split screen top half says Instagram bottom half says Twitter (I have an M8 box and I’m not tech savvy just to explain further) Please help
