To turn your Shield into an IPTV DVR, you’ll need the CosmiDVR app, an SD Card or a USB Drive with more than 50 GB and an m3u playlist.

We’ll help you through each step. When we’re finished, your Nvidia Shield Android TV will be an IPTV DVR.

Setting it up
1) Download CosmiDVR from the Google Play Store :

2) Plug the SD Card or USB drive into your Nvidia Shield, go to Settings – Storage & reset, and select General USB Drive. Select “Erase & format as device storage” and follow the on-screen instructions. Warning: This will delete anything that’s currently on the SDCard/USB drive, and anything stored on the drive after formatting will not be available outside of the Shield.

3) Go to CosmiDVR and add your M3U Playlist and follow the on-screen instructions.

4) Go to the TVApp “Live Channels” and the DVR features are now enabled!

I hope you enjoy your new DVR!

The team at Kodi Fire IPTV strongly suggests that you use a VPN at all times.
Be it for browsing, watching Kodi, watching IPTV or anything else – the one that we recommend is Hidden Router. They provide you with very fast speeds, that can reach over 400Mbps, and their VPN service is as low as $6 per month (when paid for 2 years)!
Grab your own Hidden Router and regain your online privacy now!

  1. I am trying to configure CosmiDVR on my Android device to record IPTV using IPTV Smarters app.
    I've attached 64g USB drive.
I was able to import IPTV channels.
I've configured "Live Channels" app too.

I do not see "Record" button, only see rewind, forward, play button.
Do I need to buy the paid version to record? if not please let me know what am I missing here?

  2. First I would like to say thank you for this Live TV DVR option, I love everything about it but when using the DVR it works but not fully. I record something and on playback it will just freeze at a random spot? Could it be my flash drive? Maybe you have a recommendation on type and size?

  3. Hello, I came across your app on the web and I’m on the trial version (thanks so much for that as I have purchased similar dvr apps and have been disappointed). One thing that I’m wondering is there is a section for selecting tuners, it states I have two and I cannot select more than two. Is that a hardware issue (I’m using an Nvidia shield) or is that a premium issue? My question is, if I pay for premium today will I be able to select a higher number of tuners?

    Thanks
