Kodi is overrated. If I want a movie or TV show, it's easier to torrent(and harder to take down).

Kodi and the builds are pissing me off, everything is unstable, can't find any stable reasonable builds good for Laptops .. Need more things or builds like Popcorn, Not fantastic but it kind of keeps on rolling ish. I am now starting to drift back the torrents again, but of course they have hit them to. Nothing is getting any easier for sure! Cat and mouse, cat and mouse.
Around 2016 I had a nice Kodi setup, got lots of stuff. Then everything shut down. I'm not plugged into the community like I once was and… gosh, I would love to put Kodi on my Pi 3+ and return back to the old days…
Here's the thing: Kodi is only free if your time is worthless. Chasing down which repos/addons work every month is a huge headache. You know what people usually do to avoid inconvenience? They pay money. That's where I'm at with all of this. I'm not complaining, mind you: I know the Kodi/addon devs are always hard at work. But as an end user, I have better things to do with my time; so I am liable to pay $50/month for TV. (One of the all-in-one services). Movies I don't care about, I can get those other ways. Live TV is what I'm after.
Is there any way to enjoy Kodi for live TV without spending several hours every week/month chasing down the latest resources? I think the DMCA folks have won this, Kodi will never be what it once was because achieving a good product is no longer easy…
