Just a thought- going out to anyone who had the audacity to think that Kodi got "pity" votes on AGT. I've listened to his videos 1000's of times. I have them on in the background while doing paperwork, and I often lose sight of his blindness and autism. My thoughts revolve around how he is by far my favorite new artist of multiple decades. (I'm 49) With 2 boys with autism I understand at least part of the challenges that he has faced. For him to be able to excel despite his challenges is remarkable/unbelievable/ incredible indeed. BUT I am a fan because of his amazing talent as a musician, NOT because he is someone that has autism and is blind that happens to make great music. Far from feeling a sense of pity; when I listen to him I feel genuine amazement, admiration, delight, fondness, appreciation, respect, adoration, reverence, respect, joy, peace, happiness and wonder. Which I believe is the way it should be. To say that I NEVER think of him as someone with challenges would be a lie, to say that I ONLY think of him and his incredible music because of his challenges is a much BIGGER lie!
It's interesting to know that Kodi is also a very accomplished classical pianist and that there are great videos of him on youtube with his piano teacher. Just blows me away. A universe of talent within him. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4GPYi4MRPJk
Theres another video of him performing this sing on youtube also. However it is more from a perspective off to stage right. you cant see all of the awesome things on the big screen behind him! love to see close up of his hands. And when have him at the awesome piano in the background with him in front 2:53.
