Two of the most used streaming applications available, Showbox & Popcorn Time, have been removed from Aptoide.
Aptoide is a popular Google Play Store Alternative that stores thousands of apps for Android devices. All applications within the Aptoide marketplace are completely free.
The removal of these two streaming giants comes in the wake of a lawsuit against Aptoide accusing them of piracy activity. The lawsuit comes from movie creators “Hunter Kill Productions” and “TBV Productions” claiming the app store promotes pirate activity.
In the lawsuit, it states directly “The operators of these Torrent sources directly infringe Plaintiffs’ exclusive rights by providing unauthorized copies of the works to the public, including to the ShowBox app and Popcorn Time users.”

Showbox has had issues in the past, most recently a “Connection Error” problem that blocked many from using the app.
