  1. Disney+ might just be using families as a Target Audience. Anyone with a nuclear family will most likely be subscribing to these kinds of services for their kids. Netflix will probably see a small dent in their overall revenue, but nothing significant. Netflix already targets a lot of demographics and has a diverse portfolio of shows.

I'm just wondering how Disney+ will handle account sharing.

  2. They're putting The Simpsons on there, which doesn't really make sense because they want to be PG and keep all of their adult shows like Family Guy on Hulu.
So I doubt this will ever be a Netflix competitor due to their PG philosophy. But they will become a competitor to these smaller kid friendly streaming services such as Boomerang, NickSplat and Funimation. I don't think the Disney name holds too much value anymore. Unless you're a hardcore Disney, Marvel or Star Wars fan, I doubt you'll purchase this one over Netflix or Hulu. Because both Netflix and Hulu are already packed with family friendly content as well as adult content. Disney will succeed. Not with Disney+, but with Hulu as soon as they own the entire thing.

  3. After acquiring most of Fox's properties, Disney now owns 60% of Hulu and 100% (obviously) of Disney+. They can easily stream more mature content on Hulu (Alien, Predator, American Horror Stories, Deadpool, etc) while maintaining a family-friendly Disney+ service. While Netflix is still the cheaper option (Netlfix: $13/mo vs Disney+:$7 and Hulu: $12), Disney can always find a way to bundle the two or something. If not, they still making money from 2 separate services. Disney is apparently also in talks with AT&T in an attempt to buy their share of Hulu (10%)

  4. The $6.99 monthly or the $69.99 yearly price is very good. They will have a decent impact on Netflix. However if they can figure out Hulu ownership wise. The impact will be greater. If they bundle Disney+ (6.99) & Hulu basic (5.99) or Hulu ad free (11.99) for example $1.50 cheaper combined than separate per month or a better yearly deal then Netflix will feel a lot of heat. Knowing Disney, they also own ESPN+. So they could bundle all 3. So using Hulu basic. All 3 separate is $18.00 a month. They could bundle all 3 for $16.00 a month or $185.00 for a year. For higher Hulu plans of course higher prices. But that basic plan would be huge and could force Netflix to look for a partner.

  5. To be honest Netflix is the pioneer of streaming shows and I have some sort of attachment to Netflix that can't explain, even if I love marvel and star wars ( the only real reason I could watch Disney +) it's just bullshit that Disney wants his own streaming, might as well go back to cable with all the wanna be streaming services Poppin out, it's ridiculous
